Deserted fortress

This is a picture taken by a friend of the deserted fortress of Modlin, Poland. Ever since 1656, the place witnessed the troubled events in the history of Poland, and was one of the last units to capitulate in the 1939 invasion. Parts of it are open nowadays to public. It is a place full of odd little things, old smells and mystery.
